For most of my professional career, I have been writing JavaScript. If someone had told me that when I was in uni (or to one of my professors), we’d all collectively laughed that person out of the room. JavaScript was not considered a “real language” for a long time. And, indeed, you could toy around with a few things on the web, but you couldn’t deliver a fully working website: you would use PHP for that.
Two or three years in (after I moved to the US), I found out I liked putting things in front of the users and seeing their reactions (that’s how I ended up working on consumer apps.) How did I find that out?
